Each month starting in April 2021, New Native Theatre will present a virtual reading of a play by American Indian and Indigenous playwrights.
The Well Red Series aims to celebrate the incredible bodies of work by American Indian and Indigenous playwrights. Each reading will be followed by a short conversation about the play. I am honored to be a part of NNT's upcoming reading of bug by Yolanda Bonnell(she/they). Yolanda is a Queer 2-Spirit Ojibwe/South Asian performer, playwright and poet from Fort William First Nation in Thunder Bay, Ontario. bug is a solo performance and artistic ceremony that highlights the ongoing effects of colonialism and intergenerational trauma experienced by Indigenous women, as well as a testimony to the women’s resilience and strength RSVP to, please email: [email protected]

Back for a second time, The Little Engine That Could has started performances at The Rose Theater in Omaha, NE!
Screen-centered Watty and stuff-collecting Piper aren’t exactly on the same track. But when the train is delayed leaving them stranded in the station, they must learn to work together—with lots of help from children in the station—to pass the time and use the objects around them to tell a creative tale. With its universal themes of finding your own confidence, believing in yourself and helping others, you and your little ones will relish this ride on the rails of doing the right thing! |
